ONE NEWS PAGE – PHYSICIAN, ALUMNUS OBENG TO SPEAK AT MSU COMMENCEMENT
Midwestern State University seniors are gearing up for graduation this weekend and they’ll be addressed by a fellow alumnus who took his MSU degree and went from struggling student to Beverly Hills Physician. Dr. Michael Obeng came to MSU from Ghana and after working odd jobs and sleeping on a bed he found in the trash, he graduated Cum Laude in chemistry in 1997 and went on to attend medical school. He began work in California as a Plastic Surgeon. Often operating on those with physical deformities. Dr. Obeng also began a volunteer organization called “restore” to give back to his home country in Africa and says he has a message for MSU graduates this year. This Saturday approximately 675 students will earn their degrees from MSU commencement is at 10 am at Kay Yeager Coliseum.
