THE R.E.S.T.O.R.E. WORLDWIDE MISSION
MISSION STATEMENT: “Together, we R.E.S.T.O.R.E. hope, function, and aesthetic form to where it once existed or “how things ought to be””. The organization undertakes mission projects to other countries to provide free reconstructive surgery and related medical services to abused children and battered individuals with accidental and congenital deformities. Dr. Michael K. Obeng is the founder of R.E.S.T.O.R.E.
To fulfill the humanitarian mission of R.E.S.T.O.R.E., Dr. Obeng works with volunteers and medical professionals to provide specialized plastic and reconstructive surgery. The medical team will also provide general medical care as needed.
Dr. Obeng’s home country is Ghana and he’s done four missions previously focused on breast cancer and related diseases and breast reconstruction. In 2009, RESTORE performed the first breast reconstruction for cancer using the woman’s own abdominal tissue which was a top story on the local TV station. R.E.S.T.O.R.E. plans to provide similar services to women again in Ghana.
To be successful in delivering the types of medical services, highlighted above, in a limited amount of time, R.E.S.T.O.R.E. needs your expertise and time to volunteer.
